A Safe Arrival

A few hours ago, we arrived safely in Israel. The flight was fairly uneventful. The hardest part was leaving at noon and arriving at 5 a.m. local time the next day – since it’s best to get your body on local time as soon as you can to avoid jet lag. True to form, I didn’t sleep much on the plane (couldn’t have been more than an hour) and am now trying hard to make it through Shabbat dinner without crashing.

Each morning we’re here at Kfar Maccabiah, we have a training window from 8-10 a.m. My teammates will go without me tomorrow and then we’ll all be on the lanes together Sunday morning through Wednesday morning to get used to the conditions (including the weather and the heat) and loosen up in preparation for the competition, which begins on July 15. It will be good to get back on the lanes after a few days off and start to see what my teammates will bring to the lanes, as well.

Happy Fourth of July and Shabbat Shalom to everyone! More to come on Sunday.
